DETAILS

John Chrysostom, Gregory Nazianzen, Basil the Great, and Athanasius are traditionally known as the "Greek Doctors of the Church." In this talk, an analogy is drawn between their towering contributions to theology and the work of military medics — they had to battle not only the world but also fellow Christians as they sought clarity and orthodoxy in a world plagued by conflict. Kaitlyn Curtin is a teacher of Theology and Latin. An award-winning high school instructor, she has also taught diaconate candidates, undergraduates, and catechists, and currently serves as Dean of Classical Languages at Our Lady of the Rosary School. She has served as an adjunct professor at Holy Spirit College in Atlanta and as a course facilitator for STEP, a distance program from the University of Notre Dame. Kaitlyn authored a chapter in Teresa Tomeo's book, Listening for God, and has written on the Doctors of the Church for popular media. She has also served as project manager for Fr. Dwight Longenecker's 2021 series, Taking Root in Catholic Culture: Seven Seminars with Catholic Leaders. She and her husband Tommy, headmaster of Our Lady of the Rosary School, are committed to providing excellent Catholic education in the Upstate. Her richest experience as an educator, however, has been raising her six children.
