The Catholic victory at the battle of Lepanto solidified the lines of Christian Europe that we recognize today. EVERY Catholic should know this story. We commemorate Our Lady’s role in this victory every October 7th ,the Feast day of Our Lady of the Rosary. For 20 years, Mike Maloney was very involved with California Bay Area parishes and Our Lady of Santa Clara Retreat Center. After encouragement by several priests to share great Catholic stories of saints and momentous events that are part of our Church patrimony, Mike began giving talks at a number of parishes in the Bay Area. After 52 years on the West Coast, Mike and his wife Maria moved to Greenville in 2022 - the strong Catholic Upstate community was a major factor in their decision to settle here. The are parishioners at St. Mary's, and have two daughters, Grace and Mariela.
